L'ORMARINS BRUT CLASSIQUE ROSÉ NV

Tendrils of spice add nuance and allure to a nose packed with black berries, hedgerow fruit and some mocha notes. The palate is plush, rounded and pillowy but layered with dark fruitcake flavour, black cherry, baking spice and pencil shavings too. The mouthfeel is complemented by its overall stature and regal refinement. Balanced with seamless integration of oak and ripe, rich fruit with lovely succulence and freshness as well. Complex, supple and silky smooth, the wine is ultimately simply delicious with a superbly long tail.

Clean, crisp lemon sherbet zest and biscuit nose. The palate follows the same track: vibrant, crisp, clean and tangy with bright freshness. Focused and poised with gentle but beguiling flavours of succulent lemon sherbet and understated trace of orange marmalade before a richer, rewarding, broad creamy toast, biscuit and brioche note from time on lees becomes apparent. Persistent dry tail.

Tempting traces of caramel and sweet floral aromas can be found with the more prominent spice, cherry and overt blueberry fruit notes. The trademark cherry flavour and succulence is obvious on the palate entry. Lively, bright and engaging it offers more besides: dark fruitcake and ample spice – cinnamon and nutmeg – alongside an understated oaky nuance. The grape’s signature tannins have been held in check and provide a gentle squeeze and light dryness without overwhelming the structure and body, with is nicely lithe and pliable. A deliciously persistent finish rounds off the tasty mouthful.

Melon, nectarine and white peach with a light dusting of flint on the nose. Deliciously tangy and succulent on entry. Refreshing summer fruit salad with the melon and stone fruit joined by a lively green apple crunchiness. Vibrant, perky and zippy with bright, acidic citrus notes. Ideal for summertime lunches.
